Summer Program in action
  
In association with C.W. Post Campus, Long Island University, the The Bel Canto Institute Summer Program and Youth Division Summer Program will be held in Florence, Italy. Singers and coaches will be chosen by means of audition to participate in the program which will not only encompass the musical aspects of style and tradition, but other essential historical and cultural elements which influenced the entire era. The artists will receive coaching sessions, voice lessons and performance classes on style and tradition. In addition to performance classes, participants will perform in two concert performances in public venues in Florence. Italian language classes will be taught through La Scuola Leonardo da Vincii and college credit may be obtained through C.W. Post Campus, Long Island University. All participants will be housed with families, double-occupancy rooms, shared baths. Single rooms are available at additional cost. Breakfast and dinner will be provided by the host families. All music classes will be held at Il Trillo music school, a short walk from La Scuola Leonardo da Vinci. College credit may be obtained for all of the private lessons, private coachings/ensembles and vocal diction classes through C.W. Post Campus, Long Island University.

2010 Instrumental Summer Program Details
June 28 - July 24
The four-week summer program will be in residence in Florence, Italy.
Each participant will receive:
12 private instrumental lessons
2-4 sectional rehearsals of a complete Italian opera
2-4 private coachings
4-8 ensemble coachings (various composers)
2 classes on knife sharpening (woodwinds)
2 mock auditions
1-3 sessions on playing in opera stage bands
40 hours of
Italian language instruction

La Scuola Leonardo
Italian language classes will be taught through La Scuola Leonardo da Vinci and college credit may be obtained through C.W. Post Campus, Long Island University. All participants will be housed with families, double-occupancy rooms, shared baths. Single rooms are available at additional cost. Breakfast and dinner will be provided by the host families. COLLEGE CREDIT

The following college credit is available through C.W. Post Campus, Long Island University:

All payments for college credit must be made directly to C.W. Post Campus, Long Island University. Participants will be given contact information at the university once they have been accepted into the summer program. Check with your college to confirm the acceptance of credit transfer.

NB: Youth Division participants entering senior year in high school may obtain college credit if they have a B (3.00) accumulative average in all of their previous classes at their respective schools.

All participants will be housed with families, double occupancy rooms, shared baths. Single rooms are available at additional cost.

FEE

The cost of the program is $6,500.
AIRFARE IS NOT INCLUDED.

Transfers to and from airport are NOT included. Taxis are readily available.
